Hi SC Users!
I would like to know when SC can improve for 2d Assembly Presentation, ie (creating sectional view / clipping, insert part ID by clicking the part, create reference dimension from various datum object and Auto Update when parts are modified, etc).
We know that SC can do in 3D, but most of Shipyard prefer in 2D.
Hope you guys can provide proper SC menu bar instead using Autocad menus.

I fully agree with this that all of the rig/ship owner need the autocad 2D drawing, not autocad 3d in model space & paperspace 2D.
We have to redraw / change all of the 3D drawings into 2D.
Hope shipconstructor will soon address this issue.

Yoyok,
it sounds like you have used very good drawing oriented software before.
Tthe next release SCon 2009 r1 (was called SCon 2008 r5.5 but was just renamed) shold contain some of the features you, and everyone else, has asked for for a long time already. For exmaple, the "product harvester".
A major survey of user requirements for Approval drawings is about to begin. It will be managed by Denis Morais, development manager, which give me great home for the future of the inititative.
Please do take
